Hi,

When you start chapter 6 (after: 6.4. Entering the Chroot Environment) you have the I have no name! prompt. Once you finish 6.6. Creating Essential Files and Symlinks you should have a normal prompt. Looks like that is the case looking at your post.

I do assume you talk about chapter 6.6 when you say while changing the enviroment in chapter 6 (that doesn't say too much).

Hope this helps.

well, I didnt got 'i have no name' in chapter 6.4 that is my point instead of that i got
root[/]~:

will this effect me in future which installing the packages ,as i am getting segmentation fault in glibc-2.5.1 in chapter 6

Hi,

If, after entering the chrooted environment in chapter 6.4, you end up with a root[/]~: prompt, something is definitely wrong! Continuing is pointless.

First solve the problem in your other thread. I have the feeling that building the temporary environment (chapter 5) did not go the way it should have.

Hope this helps.
