LFS all packages?

Any reliable source where I can get all LFS packages/patches in one bundle?

A bit tedious downloading them one by one.

Also a newbie question what is Live CD?

I dont think there is anyone offering a single bundle for all the LFS packages/patches. Have fun downloading! I agree, it is very tedious. One thing to note is that for some reason freshmeat does not have the correct version of the grep package (As of Aug-21-04). LFS-5.1.1 calls for grep-2.5.1 but freshmeat says that they are currently "verifying its credibility" or something like that. The closest thing they have is grep-2.5 Here is a link to the correct package. http://www.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/r...-2.5.1.tar.bz2

As for the live cd, it is a cd that you can boot from without having to install the OS on your harddrive. Just put the CD in your CD-Rom, set your BIOS's 1st boot device to CD-Rom and you've got linux!

btw, if your not in the US, here is a page that has a bunch of links to European sites with the correct package. http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bu.../msg00026.html

It also has the md5sums.

You can use wget with the scripts they have here: http://lfs.osuosl.org/lfs/wget/
This includes the patches.
Just wget -i script.wget

Or there's a compressed tar file here: ftp://ftp.lfs-matrix.de/pub/lfs/lfs-packages/
Whether it has the patches, I'm not sure.
