Lfs 6.3, Step 6.9 - Compiling Glibc-2.5.1

Hey,

So far through lfs I've had smooth sailing, this is the first step i've had any issues with. I've already tried this step multiple times and each time it has failed at the same step.

The error occurs when I run the 'make' command in the glibc-build directory.

Everything goes fine until the line:
Code:
make subdir=posix -C posix ..=../ subdir_lib
And crashes with
Code:
make[2]: *** [/sources/glibc-build/posix/getaddrinfo.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory 'sources/glibc-2.5.1/posix'
make[1]: *** [posix/subdir_lib] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory '/sources/glibc-2.5.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2
If required I can post the whole error but is rather large and just shows errors in /sysdeps/posix/getaddrinfo.c.

If you know anything to try/how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, lszanto

Hi,

I did not find this command in my LFS 6.3 book.
Code:
make subdir=posix -C posix ..=../ subdir_lib
If this is your first build you should not deviate from the book.

Attach the logfile since what you posted just states that there is an error somewhere but not what that error is.

Thats not a command, its part of the 'make' command and is called when it is executed. I've solved the issue now anyway.
