Hi everyone,

i've tried my best at following the book religiously but finally encountered my first issue.

Make fails for GMP build in chapter 6 giving me the following output:

......
......
libtool: error: '/usr/lib/../lib64/libstdc++.la' is not a valid libtool archive
make[2]: *** [libcxx.la] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2

Nonetheless i didn't get any errors while building GCC compiler prior to this.

Tells me if the above output is too scarce to find out where the problem is coming from.

Just rm the libtool archive and be done with it. It should be a symlink to /tools/lib equivalent ...

It is actually not a symlink, it's a file:

should i still rm this ?

Well, do remove it if it causes you trouble.

I'm not sure about the "why" behind it but i did remove it and it works now.
