LFS 6-1: Glibc Test Suite Fails at end with 2 errors in Chapter 6

I am in chapter 6, building the glibc library. I completed Chapter 5 (The temporary System) without any problems (that I know of

- that is, if I missed it on accident). Everything went as planned, and I proceeded into Chapter 6. I Chrooted
into the enviroment and set everything up as the book said. Then I followed the steps exactly on making the glibc library. I type "make"- no problems. When I did the "make check", however, this appeared at the very end:

make[2]: *** [/glibc-build/libio/tst-fopenloc.check] Error 127
make[2]: Leaving directory `/glibc-build/libio'
make[1]: *** [libio/tests] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `glibc-2.3.4'
make: *** [check] Error 2

Now, the book says some problems are unavoidable but unfortunately it does not give you any insight on what to do about them (even the few examples it listed).

I would like some reassurance: can I proceed to build my LFS system with this problem? Or is there a work-around?

My Host System is Mandrake Linux Powerpack 10.1

Unfortunately you pasted the part that just says there was an error and not the specific error. Unless there is something about your host environment that would interfere with a successful build or there was something accidentally mistyped to screw something else up, you can usually proceed without worry.
