LFS 4.1: Stalled at Perl, "missing seperator" error from "make"

So, what did I miss? Can anyone tell? I do know that vim, bison and flex did not make it the first time I got to perl. But, I went back and did them and I still get the same error when I get to the "make" part of installing perl.
