LFS-4.0 released
LFS-4.0 has been released. Enjoy!
'Nuff said, right? ;) |
Woohoo! Sweet...
Thanks for the info ;) |
I noticed that reiserfsprogs has been droped (included in BLFS I guess?). What was the reasoning behind this? Just curious. :)

I'd like to make reiserfs the default file system in the near future though, so we'll see how reiserfs develops. It's pretty darn stable right now, but sometimes you hear scary things on the reiserfs and kernel mailinglists which make us think to wait a little while longer just in case. |
I do see the occasional corruption story still, but 2.4.x ones are pretty rare these days. I have been using reiserFS on this machine for 2+ years now and I haven't had a single problem.

Thanks for the reply. I have been taking a closer look at the 4.0 release, and it looks as though soon the only reason for a newer version would be to upgrade the software rather than any problems. Its a sign of the success that LFS is. I'm not sure whether to upgrade just yet though, my 3.3 comp is so good is amazing.
Although I might just create a spare partition anyway.... :) |
I think when I find the time, I'm gonna try the latest and greatest.. :) Since my last LFS was 3.0 I do believe.
