I don't know how to build Redhat Linux From Scratch. You posted in the LFS forum which is about "Linux From Scratch" which tells you how to build a generic Linux system from scratch.

Why would you want to build Redhat Linux from scratch anyways?

You don't appear to understand what "Linux from scratch" actually is. it is a distribution that is manually built from source, rather than using an installer. It has nothing to do with redhat, which can't be built from scratch , otherwise it wouldn't be readhat would it?

and if it were possible... step by step instructions? i really really hope that was a joke.

no actually it was not a joke... I don't even know why i want to build linux from scratch when i can't even install my modem drivers for Redhat that are in tar.gz file. I made a post and that post is still going on and it's 3 pages long. So no it's not a joke. haha.

to build Red Hat Linux or any Linux version from scratch it requires you to know so much more then you know. You must know everything there is about computers, networking them, and lotsa programing with C/C++. If you can't even install a modem I suggest you either give up or "eat books", otherwise you'll never ever ever do it! It's like asking to be the president without going to high school, college and so on, it's just impossible!

Step by step instructions can be found on the www.linuxfromscratch.org website that you can follow to setup and install your own LFS from any distribution you so desire.

But before you start, I would suggest getting your modem drivers working first in Linux or your not going to get very far or understand much if you can't do a simple task of installing packages.

In the term "Linux From Scratch" I think the "From Scratch" part is intended to mean "Starting From Zero" with an assumption that you presently know absolutely nothing about Linux.
