GCC doesn't work Binutils configuration or installation error

I faced this problem while trying to compile binutils,

sorry for not providing the output, but I'll do next time:
it says gcc can't compile, installation or configuration error

I tried to compile different programs and gcc works well
What could be the reason and the solution

I use lfs 6.2, on Mandriva 2007 spring,

thanks so much

You are correct, we will need the exact error or all we can give is wild, wild guesses.
