from liveCD iso on hard drive partition
Hi,
first I should explain just what my problem is, in case I'm looking for the wrong solution.
I have an old Dell Inspiron 7500 with a pIII cpu, 128MB ram, 12GB hard disk, and a bum keyboard.
The BIOS doesn't like USB, and I only have a USB keyboard. Also, it takes for ever to compile the packages, and I don't have a lot of free time, so I can 1: leave the computer on all the time; 2: reboot with the liveCD every time I have a chance to work on this, and reconfigure a lot of stuff. or; 3: boot from the iso image on a partition and hibernate when it's time to stop.
I managed to install grub and configure it to boot up the iso, but then i get dropped into a shell and told that the iso could not be found, and that it might be because it's an old IDE hard drive.
this is my drive:
hda: IBM-DARA-212000, ATA DISK
I looked around a bit, and couldn't fine a module I should be loading to get it to work, so I'm asking for help.
Ivan
