Dhcpcd installed by mistake?

Hello,
I have finally got my LFS booting to command prompt. :)

Running LFS Version SVN-20140611

However, I have a problem with the network. Is dhcpcd the proper program to install with my machine?

I have one nic and am connected directly to my cable modem. Very simple.
I installed dhcpcd thinking it was a dhcp client program. My nic is getting no ip information assigned to it. I get OK on boot up for sit0 and dhcpcd.

Thank you.

What does proper mean? I use dhclient, myself - all of the configuration is on the command line.

You can use dhclient or dhcpcd for connectivity. They both fairly much do the same thing.
