After I build a new system, I move linux* to /usr/src so I keep my kernel source and any necessary patches (but don't create the /usr/src/linux symlink). Because I use CLFS and not LFS, I also keep the CLFS bootscripts in /root since the CLFS bootscript package contains scripts for CBLFS packages as well. After that I delete /sources.
I also move /tools to /tools_bak and /cross-tools to /cross-tools_bak. Rather than deleting these directories, which you don't need, this will allow you to restore them if you find that something accidentally got linked against something in the temporary system. After a few weeks, I delete these directories as well.
