Yes, basically you create a symlink for the Windows Manager in directory /etc/X11/xinit

Example:

Code:
cd /etc/X11/xinit
ln -s xinitrc.enlightenment xinitrc
And then run

Code:
startx

I reverted to svn rev 66121 on Debian, rebuilt using easy_e17.sh -i -s so as not to update sources. E starts perfectly...

Maybe try building the svn version mentioned?

Cool Woohoo!!!!!

Lennie, Reaper and Keith Thank You so much for all your help!!!!
I managed to start Enlightenment finallyyy!!!!!!

I simply typed xinit and a terminal opened up, in that I typed enlightenment_start and BANG!!!! it started
