BLFS - Linux-PAM Docs

If you look at the installation for Linux-PAM in the BLFS 7.5 instructions:

I see this:

Quote:

Linux PAM Dependencies

Optional: Berkeley DB-6.0.20, CrackLib-2.9.1, libtirpc-0.2.4 and Prelude

Optional (To Rebuild the Documentation): docbook-xml-4.5, docbook-xsl-1.78.1, fop-1.1, libxslt-1.1.28 and w3m-0.5.3

What does it mean to "rebuild the documentation"? Rebuild how? Rebuild why? Is there anything wrong with it initially or something?

Can I not use the docs without doing this? The text isn't clear. My concern is to enable this "rebuilding" I'll have to flesh-out about 9 dependencies.

Thanks ahead of time...

It's an optional extra to rebuilt the API documentation. It's basically the same argument as GTK-Doc's purpose.
