binutils make check fails

I am installing Binutils in chapter 6. It compiles fine, but when I run make check it fails. The only helpful error message is that the problem has something to do with Dejagnu. The book does very little to point me in the direction of where to find a solution, so I was wondering if anyone can point me to where I can resolve this issue.
