anyone here uses ubuntu to build LFS,I have some questions about it

Well,I have ever used suse to build my lfs succesfully.However I would like to use ubuntu to build the LFS 6.1,and the version of gcc is 4.0.
When I started to build the LFS with the first package binutils,there are some questions exists.

When I used the ./configure command,the error message shows about that below:
the gcc compile cant't be installed and configured exactly.

Should I use gcc 3.4?
Of courset when I used gcc 4.0,I have put the patch into it

I think using gcc3.4 would be better for the time being cause that way at least it works properly... if you install gcc4.0 in ubuntu it is a pain to make the environment that of gcc4 because by removing gcc3.4 you remove all the dependand packages as well meaning all the headers and everything are still those of gcc 3.4
