2 questions: uninstall & startx
Iīve just installed LFS and wanted a graphical environment. Didnīt want Kde o Gnome cos they come with lots of programms embedded and are huge, so i wanted a small window manager and installed wmaker.
My problem is when the computer boots and i login in text mode I issue startx and get wmaker working fine but if i cant get wmaker to start automatically on boot up.
Iīve checked ./xinitrc and the last line is exec wmaker. If I modify /etc/inittab adding a line like x:5:wait:/(path to startx) I get several errors on screen like "auth startx error on line 131 file not found" and finally the login prompt in text mode. I login, type startx and it works but not automatically.
I guess the problem is the PATH variable. somehow, after I login it gets set appropiately but perhaps when I installed wmaker I did it wrong. Maybe I didnt ./configure --prefix=/usr. So here is my second question. How do i Uninstall wmaker completely from my system? Because one possible solution to my problem is to uninstall wmaker and install again correctly.
Thanks in advance and excuse my english.
