2 little problems to clear up on LFS/BLFS 7.1

Hi

I have 2 Questions regarding my LFS.
1st
I have ssh installed as from blfs, is there a way of starting the server without running the bootscript. Straight from a command? I dont/wont need it very often.

2nd

NTFS file system I have enabled ntfs in the kernel I can mount and access it as root and copy stuff from it, but not as user, I cant even cd into partition, permission denied
What I,m asking, As root has access I must be able to get the user to (user has privlages).
I can access using sudo rox but I use terminal a lot

I would keep the /etc/rc.d/init.d/sshd init script and remove the links to /etc/rc.d/rc*.d/[KS]*sshd

This way the service isn't started during boot and you can use the init script to start the service by hand in a clean manner.

Did you set the proper mount options? Have a look here: http://www.linux-faqs.com/faq/misc/ntfs.php#4.6 (the whole article might be of interest).

You can run the sshd command from the prompt, you might need the appropriate options that go with it (depends on how you run sshd).

I prefer my first solution, it is cleaner in my opinion. But it is your box
