[Question] User based Package Manager...

I am just reading regarding the different package managements options in LFS 6.4.

I was just wondering why the user-based package management isnt more spread if in my opinion (based in what i read about it) is more secure and easier to follow?

why do most the distros use the fakeroot approach?

I do see that to create your own scripts that follow this type of manager is a little bit complicated, but still I guess somebody has already written a script that can be used.
