Unhappy (zenity:2300): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:


Hi guys,

I am trying to use zenity commands to make a UI to the client and i am a novice in this zenity and using CentOS with linux flavour.

when i try to give a sample zenity command it throws this error

[eng@localhost ~]$ zenity --about

(zenity:2301): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:


help me to get this zenity work in my system

Are you running the command in vt-console.

That warning means you are not running the zenity command in X Window System. Just open a terminal in GNOME or KDE or whatever and try it.

Also you need to be same user who is running X display.
