yum local repository

any one please help to setup local repository,means i installed centos 5.2 on server using dvd,i want to install gcc on this one ,i am not able to do this one because system is not connected to internet.if i directly (copied just gcc..4.1 .rpm to desktop) try to install gcc ..4.1.rpm,it is giving dependency problem,to take care of dependency issues i want to install it through yum ,thats why i want to setup local repository,i have centos iso on server i mounted it and i copied all rpms to /var/www/html/centos/base.later i used createrepo /var/www/html/centos/base and i edited /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo
edited base

# CentOS-Base.repo

# This file uses a new mirrorlist system developed by Lance Davis for CentOS.
# The mirror system uses the connecting IP address of the client and the
# update status of each mirror to pick mirrors that are updated to and
# geographically close to the client. You should use this for CentOS updates
# unless you are manually picking other mirrors.
#
# If the mirrorlist= does not work for you, as a fall back you can try the
# remarked out baseurl= line instead.

Hello rames2075

if you use:
[base]
name=CentOS-$releasever - Base
baseurl=http://MYSERVERIP/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/

i see that you use =http://
you have to configure your apache to support it also...

i would suggest that you use NFS to share your repo...

with NFS it should look something like this:

baseurl=file:///nfsshare/Fedora/bla/bla...

good luck
