Question where is gdmsetup on redhat v6

brand new to linux, trying to setup the gdm login manager, using a document called 'CONFIGURING XDMCP and GDM on RED HAT LINUX'. this document indicates that the XDM login manager is no longer supported for users running read linux 5 or above, so i'm trying to setup GDM. I've updated the /etc/gdm/custom.conf table, i made sure that the inittab entry is set to 'id:5:initdefalut', i restarted xwindows (init 3, init 5). when it comes to running gdmsetup, i can't find it. if i do a file search it shows gdmsetup in
the LOGIN SCREEN,command gdmsetup, location /usr/share/desktop-menu-patches ... when i look there i find gnome-gdsetup.desktop.. if i try to execute i get errors:

/gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 80: přihlašovací: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 90: de: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 91: સ્ક્રીનને: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 92: מסך: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 93: स्क्रीन: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 94: zaslona: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 95: bejelentkezőképernyő: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 96: մուտքի: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 97: layar: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 98: kveđjuskrá: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 99: la: command not found
./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 101: ეკრანის: command not found

./gnome-gdmsetup.desktop: line 102: `Comment[kn]=ಪ್ರವೇಶ ತೆರೆಯನ್ನು (ಲ

so i assumed this was not what they had in mind when the said the final step is to configure the GDM login manager using the gdmsestup utility...

please be gentle....

gnome-gdmsetup.desktop is a link to the program such as from an icon on the desktop. If you start the system normally and login, you will find a link either on the desktop or in the system menu. If it is enabled, you should also find a link on the login screen itself.
