Veritas NetBackup ~ Comparing files

Hi,

I just got introduced to Veritas netBackup, I was wondering if it could compare the files on the (backed up) tape to the files on the disk and give an output of files that are missing. Could anyone give me some direction?

Thank you

You can copy changed files with rsync but you can also run it in report mode where it will tell you which files are missing or newer.

"but you can also run it in report mode"

Does "it" = rsync or NetBackup.

Yes I understand I have used rsync before, I just didn't know because there are report modes in the NetBackUp Program.

That is definately a different viable way to go about it. I am still searching to see if the program NetBackUp will do it itself and I think I found what I am looking for:

Pages 72-77

Thank you for your input. :-P

With the find command you can also tell which files have been modified or created in the last day or the last several days or even files that where created a week ago or earlier.
