Question Unable to install with PXE

Hi All,

I am fairly new to the whole PXE booting and I am trying to setup a Network Installation Server. The O/S is RHEL-4-ES. I have managed to setup TFTP and DHCP, the problem that I am having is that once the F12 is pressed on the client machine I want to install Linux on it. It gets to the default PXElinux menu and I cannot get any further. I am absolutely stuck as to how to get the next stage further. The client doesn't seem to be dragging the image down that I have created.

All the links that I have found regarding PXE installtions and howto's don't seem to go into enough detail regarding problems like this.

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Neil

It's ok I've sorted it out.

The issue was the I had created a bad image on the HDD from the CD. So when executing
system-config-netboot and configuring the network install some of the files were missing hence the reason for it only getting so far and not booting into the RHEL4 install.

all sorted now and its installing as wel speak.

cheers

Neil
