Thunderbird RPM fix and upgrade

I have installed RHEL 4 AS and now I'm trying to apply fixes and upgrades. I'm try to apply the thunderbird rpm that I built from source. The source was retrieve from Red Hat updates. When I try to apply the built rpm's I get the following message below:

Preparing packages for installation...
thunderbird-1.0.2-1.4.1
error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/lib/thunderbird-1.0.2/defaults/pref/all-redhat.js;425b21f1: cpio: MD5 sum mismatch

How can I fix the problem that I'm having?

How do I expand the rpm's without applying/installing them?

I'm new to Linux and really like the Red Hat release.

Any help will do.

Thanks.

Lou

Try using rpm -Uvh (U=upgrade).

MD5 sum mismatch

This is indicating there is an error with the match between the MD5 sum of your .rpm and the MD5 sum generated against the official .rpm or source file. It is possible that the source file you downloaded has been corrupted somehow. Where did you get the source file from?

I down loading the file for the Red Hat update site. Is there any way to expand the rpm and re-generate the md5 sum?

Thanks
