sudo not logged in /var/log/messages

Hi All,

i have the following entry in my /etc/sudoers file

%wasadmins ALL=ALL

but when one of the users belonging to %wasadmins group logs in and performing a sudo _commandname_ - i don't get any sudo entry in /var/log/messages

by the way how do i give permision for %wasadmins to be able to perform ALL commands in the /opt/Programs - directory ... i tried %wasadmins ALL=/opt/Programs and it did not work.

i'm using Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10.

sudo logs with facility local2 by default. You check syslog.conf to see where that's going. You can change the facility with a 'syslog' line in sudoers or even log to a file with a 'logfile' line.

Regarding your other question, you can put %wasadmins ALL=/opt/Programs/ (note the trailing slash) or %wasadmins ALL=/opt/Programs/* but, this will only allow you to execute programs in /opt/Programs, not any of its subdirectories.
