ssod daemon for password sync to a Windows domain

Hello everyone,

I hope someone here has some advice to give me as I have been trying to solve this issue for a few months now and getting nowhere.
What I have is a SLES 11 server with a series of users whose passwords need to be synched once they change on the Windows domain. so it's a Windows to Linux sync.

I have followed instructions to the letter by copying the relevant files to all paths and starting SSOD. The encryption keys, server IP's, etc are all in place, there is nothing that is out of place so I am not sure why this simply does not work.
I monitor the /var/log/messages to see if password changes are occurring and I get some strange errors.

Errors range from PAM errors
Most recently I have got:
*** glibc detected *** ./ssod: double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x0806e0f0 ***

This is when it tries to sync a password that is common between the 2 environments.
I googled this error and tried the MALLOC_CHECK_=0 prior to running the SSOD daemon, but the issue persists.

I am really at a loss as to how to get this to work and I am really hoping that there is someone here who has some experience with this that can assist me in any way.

thanks in advance
Brian

Smile Solved!

OK, just for interest sake, I found the solution to this problem. There are some very special permissions that need to be applied on the ssod daemon and the system-auth file. if you find you have this issue, let me know and I will give you the step by step.
