i have installed Redhat Enterprise AS server on one of the Dell Desktop.

after installation, i was trying to connect to this server using ssh from windows XP Desktop using putty.
it gives me the error" protocol missematch" and exit the putty windows.
same i have tried from server to connect to 22 port.

Hi,

Check the ssh protocol version (1 or 2) that sshd runs and putty expects. They should be the same.

It's possible to set these in your /etc/ssh/sshd_config as well as putty.

Hope this helps.
