root file system at 90%

Hi,

I would like to know how to find out whather mail box of user last accessed / or not in use.

on linux box /root file system has reached at 90%.

only sendmail is configured.

As users mailbox is stored in /var/spool/mail, in that it showing different size of users mailbox,

and if I am doing >user (empty user mailbox) wheather it will remove those mails from microsoft outlook also?

Please suggest.

at 90% my first assumption is to look in /var/log
Check to see if the logs are being rotated or not
if not then set up rotate
the same for /tmp
check if that is also being rotated

the two normal everyday culprits in a full / partition is the logs and temp files
also how big is the / partition

9 to 12 gigs is about normal with 24 gigs on the large side
