RHEL5 - Xen - Guest Install Problem

Hi there.

We are trying to install a workable RHEL5 Xen. Running kernel 2.6.19x... OS install and updates in and known good...

The Dom0 install goes fine. Dom0 comes up on boot as it should. Base parms are set so that Dom0 does not consume too much RAM (approx 1.8 G left over for creating a VM).

Run Virtual Machine Mgr - Create New - Paravirt - point to internal HTTP for install media - Simple File/2000Mb Create later - 384 MinRAM 500Max - 1VCPU... Install begins and returns ERROR: virDomainCreateLinux() failed

Anybody got an idea?

I'm getting this error when trying to install FC6 as a guest on RHEL5. I was able to install a RHEL5 guest just fine on the same machine. The only clue I have is that the httpd error_log on the machine serving the disk images gives this error
Code:
End of file found: mod_mime_magic: read failed from uncompress of /pathtomount/images/xen/vmlinuz
I'm using the DVD iso image and the sha1sum checked out just fine after downloading.

Have you found a solution? Anyone else?

Not yet... I have made headway (I think) using xm in a terminal session... but still no resolution... RH is confused too! Will post resolution as soon as I find one.

Well I found the solution to my problem. It turns out that just because you put something in a folder called x86_64 it does not me it will actually be 64bit... who knew?

I experienced exactly this problem and solved it. I used something like
Code:
# virt-install --name=lars --ram=512 --vcpus=1 --file=/dev/mapper/lars \
 --paravirt --location=http://W.X.Y.Z/centos/x86_64 --vnc
to install a new Xen guest. But my firewall rules denied http access to W.X.Y.Z from the IP-address I configured my new guest with.
