Question RHEL5, configure telnet and FTP on server?


hai,
i am new to this. in installed enterprise 5.0 sucessfully. how to configure telnet and ftp on server.
i am able to connect through putty.

Telnet in this day and age ? BAD idea, but if you really really cannot do without it
Code:
yum install  telnet-server
and edit /etc/xinetd.d/ftp and enable it then restart xinetd.

For ftp
Code:
yum install vsftpd
then make the changes you want in /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf

Also if a firewall is up that machine open the needed ports for those services.
