Replace windows Domain controller( Active directory , DNS, DHCP) with Linux box

Hi guys,

I have a windows 2003 running Domain controller, which is configured for DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory.

I need to replace that with linux.
the service we need is :
-clients can login from any pc.
-clients are able to connect to the internet (some are restricted)
-clients will be able to use our application server (web based apps)
-home directory of the clients needs to be on the server. ( should be mapped on the win clients machine so they can store their files their)

I know how to configure HPCP and DNS, but i do't know what else i need to configure to achieve the mentioned features.
i googled it and found many results, some says samba others say samba/ldap. i do't know which server/service need to be installed neither its configuration.

I need your help specifying which service need to be running to get this done.

Thanks..

Domain Controller

Hi.
This can all be done. What you need is Samba. There are lot of documentation about these setup here and there, Google is your friend. You can also do it "the easy way" and install ClearOS. I've tried that and it's rather easy to setup and configure. Actually really easy to set it up as a Domain Controller I've done that and set it up as a print server also. So if you want it up fast and without too much problem I would look at that. What I've also done is to take a close look at the config files for Samba after the ClearOS setup, you can learn a lot from that.
