Question Reconfigure X Server

under other linux distro's i used this command to reconfigure X server:
$dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

What is the syntax to do this from tty ?

I searched for the file and cannot locagte it.

It would be great if I could reconfigure so I can get Nvidia FX1500 card to work with docking station for external monitor.

BTW... I'ved ran: sh ./nvidia-linux-x86-169.07.pkg1.run & nvidia-xconf

Thanks :-)

You forgot to mention which distro you are using? To install nvidia drivers you need to shutdown X which is done by entering "init 3" on most distros and then running the installation script. If you are using RHEL, you run the command system-config-display to reconfigure X and on SUSE, you run sax2.
