Unhappy Software RAID 1: adding a new SCSI disk to existing disk.... help

Anyone know if it is possible to add a new disk to an existing disk, and create a software RAID 1 to mirror both disk without destroying data residing on the existing disk ?

Or can anyone point me to any article on this ? I tried to find on the net but no luck.

Thanks alot !

Linux distro: RHEL WS 3

not sure if there is an easy way to do this.
i would rsync everything to a spare drive first.
then you can install your new drive and create the RAID.
after you have booted and formatted the RAID drive then rsync the data back to the RAID array.

I'm not sure how you would do this otherwise. you could use a boot disk with Ghost or some type of imaging software, but you will need to make sure the boot disk has drivers to support your RAID array.
