pop3 authendication on RHEL4


Hello,
i have installed RHEL4 on my machine. i have also configured sendmail and dovecot on it . but when i do
# telnet 192.168.4.60 110 it shows following error
Trying 192.168.4.60...
Connected to dnyan.com (192.168.4.60).
Escape character is '^]'.
+OK dovecot ready.
user test12@dnyan.com
+OK
pass test12
-ERR Authentication failed.
Connection closed by foreign host.

it shows auhendication error . plz tell me how to solve it ?

You can't have a username with an @ symbol if you're using system accounts, unless you are using one of the translation features in dovecot. I presume you are not since you didn't mention that...

Or are you not using system accounts?
