Not Urgent but Required LVM2

My Dear Gurus

I have used LVM2 in my new installation. I can extend my paritions reduce it and etc. I have one problem for now which is that of the manuall from www.tldp.org writtes that

"by default most filesystem resizing tool will increase the size of the file system to be the size of the underlying locial volume so you don't need to worry about.

Now I wonder if my LVM2 does this for me. I am using RHEL 4. if i extend the size of the logical volume the filesystem will extend also and if i reduce will it reduce the filesystem also. I am using EXT3 files systems with my LVs.

thanks if i get response soon.
