Need to force umas 002 with no root access

Hi,
Here is the scenario.
Red Hat ES 2.1.
We are about 9 users that work with the same files all the time in SVN.
We share the working copy so we need that every time a file is modified we need to force the group to have full access to it.

We can modified our own .bash_profile and I tried several times adding different umasks, currently:
Code:
umask 002
And no luck there.

Please share any ideas you might have.
