My SQL


Hi guyz ..
can any one help me out??
I have problem with mysql server.. its not starting... gives error message..... Timeout while starting service..

Would you post the full error message that you get from the log?

i was trying to remove the mysql completly from ma system...
but cant remove it either... wanted to install the newer verson of mysql...
can i delete all the folders manually ???

why can't you do something like "rpm -e mysql-5.0.1-1.rpm"?

it gives the following message... again..


error: Failed dependencies:
libmysqlclient.so.14 is needed by (installed) perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9004-3.1.i386
mysql = 4.1.7 is needed by (installed) mysql-devel-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1.i386
