mod_mono, access database, and apache

Gentlemen, Ladies, and others:

We have a hot ticket issue to deploy an application within a matter of days (that we are developing as I type this). However, some of our web services are using apache. Yes, we are using Windoze .Net framework on some of our web servers, but management wants this to run on our Linux platforms.

My question is this: .NET app is written in C# with an Access database backend. Anyone with experience or the know how that can point us in the right direction? It does not need load balancing, aggregation, or failover capabilities. Just the ability to run on Apache platform.

I was thinking mod_mono with ODBC driver.

In a crunch,

Justin

I was just reading up on Mono today. Here are some links that I believe will be of use to you:

http://www.sitepoint.com/article/get-started-mono
http://www.devchannel.org/devtoolsch.../1755236.shtml
http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1634052,00.asp
http://www.devx.com/dotnet/Article/21872

You should also refer to the Mono documentation . It's included in the distribution but is really good at telling you what features are supported and which aren't.

Although I personally haven't used Mono in anything, I do know that it doesn't by default support Access databases. One of the articles listed above goes into more details regarding this issue. They do however support more powerful databases that run on Linux such as MySQL and Postresql.
