Mainframes

Hi I work for a large company and am working for desktop support I want to move on.

We use nas and san which as a mainframe database...

sun?

I am looking for a starting point for getting a bit of backgound to administrating the involved servers (i am not sure what os they are using)

Any reccomendations? - I have searched google but they dont seem to have much listed on san or nas.

Many Thanks
Rob

SAN = Storage Area Network
NAS = Network Attached Storage

Quite possibly your company is using Sun boxen as storage controls, in which case they would be running Solaris.

What exactly do you understand by "mainframe"? A real IBM mainframe (such as a z8xx, z9xx or a z9) or something else?
