Linux authentication to Netware 6.5 via LDAP - Samba ..

Hi all,

I've sorted out getting Linux to authenticate to Netware 6.5, so I can log on as a user but currently my home directory is created locally on the machine with pam_mkhomedir.so. Not ideal.

I want the Linux users to have their home directories on the Netware 6.5 server, these home directories are the same as their Windows ones (naturally), so samba is the only choice (other than NFS?).

The Netware 6.5 server runs Samba already, is there any way I can set Linux users to use a samba home directory?

I suppose some kind of login script which takes the "USER" variable and then maps the appropriate drive, e.g;

Netware/homes/$USER

But how would passwords work (I obviously don't want them in the scripts)? The script wouldn't be run before the wm loads up, and hence won't work (no where to dump settings etc), or would it?

So I'm just after some advice please. Thanks for any suggestions.
