joining my redhat9 client to an active directory

Dear Forum,

I have a windows active directory domain. I have tried to add my redhat9 client to the domain but failed.

Can someone help me out.

Reheat 9?? Don't bother. Are you not aware that Redhat 9 is 7 years old? Do not use it. A direct modern descendent would be Centos 6.2 / Redhat EL 6.2 or Fedora 16.

Picking software purely based on what CD was in a drawer / the highest number you could find is NOT a way forward.

As acid_kewpie said, the first step would be loading a current, up-to-date distro. RH9 is ANCIENT, and if (a very BIG *IF*) you could somehow load the software you need to do this, you'd face no end of other issues as you go forward.

After that, we can try to help...but you need to provide actual details. Saying "I tried but failed", gives us NOTHING to go on, and nothing to diagnose your problem with.
