I need a job scheduler (for shell scripts) for Red Hat AS 4, suggestions?

Hi all!

I need a job scheduler to be used with Red Hat AS 4 and it needs to have the following characteristics:
  • Be free and open source
  • Have some kind of "Wait File" capability
  • Be able to manage failures
  • Be able to define predecessors and parallel executions
  • If possible, be easy to configure
  • If it looks like Tivoli, I´m happy!

If some other forum is best for this kind of question, please let me know.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions.

Not sure exactly what you're after, but render queue managers can execute shell scripts on a number of computers with dependencies, logging, auto-requeing, etc.

My favorite open source queue is Dr. Queue: http://drqueue.org

hope that helps.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for you answer!

O took a look a it, and looks like it can be used for what I need, but I´m looking for something more specific, more reliable, as this is for a bank institution.

It needs to run a chain of jobs, identify failure, be able to rerun jobs or skip them. Has to have a daemon that check is a group of files has arrived at a determined location.

TWS and CTRL-M are examples of what I need. But I need a open-source solution.

Regards
