How to find Service Pack level for SLES 10
Hello All,
We have a SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. I would like to know Service Pack Level of it. I browsed online and used few commands, but got the conflicting results. /> cat /etc/SuSE-release SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (x86_64) VERSION = 10 PATCHLEVEL = 4 /> cat /etc/issue Welcome to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP4 (x86_64) - Kernel \r (\l). /> SPident CONCLUSION: System is NOT up-to-date! found SLE-10-x86_64-SP1 + "online updates" expected SLE-10-x86_64-SP4 So my questions are 1. Is my Server is at Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 4 2. Does PATCHLEVEL mean Service Pack Level. |
I've had to deal with this before, and it's a little confusing. But I usually go with what SPIdent says. If you go into YAST and run online updates, is everything updated?

As far as i know SP 4 is the very last in the old SELS 10 series
Time to contact novell sales and buy SELS 11 |
Please make me figure out Service Pack Level
I can't upgrade to SLES 11 right now.
Actually I am trying to install a software which supports SLES 10 SP1. So I need to figure out the Service Pack Level. Guys...Please make me figure out Service Pack Level |
you might want to see the novell sels10 page
https://www.suse.com/documentation/sles10/ from the novell/suse install "service pack" page https://www.suse.com/documentation/s.../cha_inst.html you are on "no service pack" so you need to install Service pack 1 then Service pack 2 then Service pack 3 then Service pack 4 however SELS 10 came out in "Initial release, 2006-06-17" Quote:

If I am on "no pack".
