In graphic mode there is no message but in text mode when I shutdown the last lines are:
<0>Fatal exception: panic in 5 seconds
Init:sending processes the kill signal
Kernel panic-not syncing:Fatal exception

and then the system hangs.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi there,
What Kernel are you using? I've had some similar problems with AMD64. I found kernel was confusing with IRQs related to an RT61/RT2500 wireless card. Is this (or something similar) your situation?

Hi,
I found that system hangs when it's killing Xprocess, any command to kill gdm-binary or X results in hanging. As I am a newbie, I don't know why it happens. Please help me to solve it.
