Hey Manoj,

The command

uname -a

should cover everything you need. You can find out more by reading the info in some of the files in '/proc/'. Some files to take note of: cpuinfo, devices, diskstats, key-users, filesystems, etc.

Cheers

Do you want to know the version of a distro that a CD or DVD would install?

Often the version is part of the label of the disk. If not, there should be a README or ReleaseNotes file file you can read to find out.

Lightbulb

These commands will give you desired results, although you will have to look for exact information in dmidecode.

Code:
cat /proc/cpuinfo
cat /etc/redhat-release
dmidecode
