enterprise SAN environment woes

I have a number of questions..

I have 2 qlogic hbas in my linux machine.. Slamd64 (slackware for 64bit)

when i present on disk to it I see four copies after i rescan the fabric...

This i can understand due to our san design.

we have two EVAs with two switches each in front of each of them with another 2 links (the fabrics) between the four switches.
Failover is the name of the game....

So i can see four disks... which one do i use? w of them can be partitioned and the other 2 cannot... (obviously this is the failover in the qla module i presume and that they couldn't not be used at the same time due to data corruption etc etc) what is an "easy" wasy to manage them?

Then to complicate further i added another identical disk from the other EVA and presented it... so now i have 8 logical scsi disks..#
sda is my local scsi 320 disk

i now have for the time being setup md0 as a raid 1 device with my 2 30G drives configured... im arbitrarily using

cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [raid1]
md0 : active raid1 sdg1[1] sdb1[0]
31457152 blocks [2/2] [UU]

unused devices: <none>

as the two handles for the drives...
df
/dev/md0 30963692 6693176 22697656 23% /san

how do i get the persistent binding i hear so much about and how do i properly manage the failover??

Any experiece that can be shred will be VERY helpful.

FWIW... I've seen the exact same thing on that site from time to time, didn't matter if I was using FF or IE or whatever.... tried it again a couple hours later and it was fine..

I'd say it's a problem of theirs not yours...

Whoops.... ignore that... wrong thread... geesh....
