cron jobs work fine when invoked from webmin but fail on schedule
All~
We're using RH Enterprise and having a problem with our cron jobs.
If you run the cron job manually from webmin, it works just fine...but when it tries to run on the selected schedule, they return 'can't find file' or 'no such directory' errors....
Both jobs in question contain the ncpmount command to connect and mount to a Novell (6.5) volume on the server.
I'm hoping that someone might have a clue....
Thanks!
Jill

It sounds like the ncpmount command is failing when run as cron. cron has a different PATH than other users, often an empty PATH. Try giving the full path name for the ncpmount command. If that doesn't work please post the cron job.

Thanks for helping! I appreciate the time you took to respond to my plea for help. About an hour after I had posted, I somehow managed to 'stumble' onto the fix and it was, as you suggested, to put the whole path into the job script.
Thanks again!
Jill
