Articles to illustrate Linux server goodness

Hi all,

Had a chance to pimp Linux to our managing director and push that its excellent on the server side (He is already interested in promoting Ubuntu on the desktop).

Anyone have links, articles, stats, market research etc of Linux on the server side and the important roll it plays in the industry ?

I am googling away here, but if someone has some good links, that would be great!!

How about perusing the "Success stories" section for inspiration? "Important role" to me sounds kinda vague. What I would like to know is how cost-effective, versatile and robust it would be performing role X, Y and Z...

Prominent is probably the word I meant there rather then important.

Without finding exactly what I need, I have started a paper I have called "Leveraging free/open source software"

Don't know how well this will come up, but I hope it dos the trick in letting our MD see the benefits of incorporating it into our company and services we offer.
