all attempts to fix the problem failed... can someone help me fix partition space?
 

I have three partitions available:

/dev/sdc2 ext3 15G 12G 2.2G 85% /
/dev/sdc1 ext3 99M 13M 81M 14% /boot
/dev/sda1 ext3 135G 2.7G 126G 3% /data0
/dev/sdb1 ext3 135G 92M 128G 1% /data1


The sdc2 is almost used up. I want to take space from one of the other partitions and add it to the sdc2 partition. Is there a simple way to do this? I am really at my wits end.

I've used the System Rescue cd to do this - there's an app on there called "qtparted" that should allow you to do what you're asking. I'm pretty sure there's a few other apps around that will do it as well, but that one's been sufficient for my needs, so I haven't tried anything else (and it's quite similar to Partition Magic, which I used for years before I made the switch to Linux) It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: BACK UP ALL IMPORTANT DATA BEFORE USING THESE TOOLS! I've never lost any data using those kinds of tools, but there's always a first time.

I agree with pnellesen, qtparted is very easy to use and is present in many live cd distros: knoppix, mepis, kanotix, kurumix, linux+ live, linespa...

And yeah, don't forget backup.
